Spring makeup essentials
Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to talk about some of my spring makeup essentials. I love the season spring as we are beginning to experience some sunshine in the UK. Spring is one of my favourite seasons regarding makeup. Spring makeup in my opinion is fresh, natural, glowy and colourful.
I usually play it safe when it comes to makeup, for example it's always nude lips with pink or brown on my eyes. As much as I love nudes, pinks and browns, I really want to start venturing outside of my comfort zone. I have recently discovered some eyeshadow shades that are bold but look so nice. I have found a new love when it comes to purple, red and yellow eyeshadow looks. I would have never worn these shades up until recently and when applied well they can look stunning. If like me you are nervous regarding colour, you could always do a brown/ neutral eye and then add a pop of colour to the lower lash line until you feel as though you can incorporate it on the eye lid, this way the pop of colour is subtle but still noticeable.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette -
I love this palette, every time I use it I feel inspired to try something new. This palette offers neutral shades and pops of bright pink, deep purples and an olive toned green. It is perfect for spring and summer as it gives the option of bold and neutral shades. The quality of these shadows is amazing and it is probably one of the best eyeshadows palettes I have tried. I love using this palette when I am holiday as you can create natural daytime looks and stunning evening looks using the deep purples.
This palette in my opinion is a must have for the spring and summer months.
Kiko smart colour eyeshadows -
These eyeshadows are pigmented and there are some really lovely vibrant shades on offer too. The Kiko eyeshadows are affordable and they look stunning on the eyes. I have the shades 12 and 25. Shade 12 is a peachy champagne shimmer shadow and shade 25 is a vibrant banana yellow, which looks amazing when incorporated into looks or on the lower lash line.
Rimmel lasting finish by Kate in the shade 42 -
This lipstick is a pinky nude with a sheen finish. Considering the fact that the formula wasn't matte I really didn't expect this lipstick to have a lot of lasting power, but it lasted a good few hours. The colour is gorgeous and perfect for a natural look in the spring months.
MUA lipstick in the shade 9 -
This lipstick is a hidden gem from the drugstore. The lipstick is a gorgeous metallic purple toned pink. It retails for only £1! which is amazing. The longevity isn't amazing, but for the price point I really cannot complain. It is the perfect affordable lipstick for spring.
Maybelline total temptation mascara -
I was really unsure when I first tried this as I found it didn't really do much. However, after about a week the formula had dried down and it had more of a grip to it and that's when I started to like this mascara. It gives length and separation. Whilst it isn't my favourite mascara it is good and it does the job. This mascara would look good for a natural makeup look, as it doesn't give intense volume.
Benefit Galifornia blusher -
This blusher is a bright coral orange shade. It is very pigmented so be careful with application. A little bit goes a long way. I barely tap the blusher and then sweep it across the apples of my cheeks for a flushed and healthy pop of colour. This blusher would look amazing on darker skin or when you have a tan.
I Heart Makeup Goddess of Love highlighter -
This triple baked highlighter looks amazing on the skin and it is buildable. You can apply a little bit for a natural glow or you can apply more for a intense glow. I think highlighter is key for that lit from within look during the spring and summer months.
Maybelline dream BB fresh skin perfector -
I really like this BB cream for a natural and minimal look, it's lightweight and it helps to even out the skin tone. It contains SPF 30 which is really good for your skin as it protects it from harmful sun rays. The BB cream also helps to keep my skin hydrated all day long and it blurs imperfections.
Those are my spring makeup essentials, what are yours?
Thank you for reading.
